Ellerman house, located in Bantry Bay, CapeTown: once the house of Sir John and Lady Ellerman, distinguished shipping magnates and investors, now offers some of South Africa’s most exclusive lodging, with fine cuisine, wines and whiskey. Ellerman House also offers a fine collection of art and a new wine gallery.
The new wine gallery’s interior space was done as a collaboration of renowned artists and designers such as Trevyn and Julian McGowan, Brian Steinhobel, Conrad Hicks and Angus Taylor. Gass architecture studios was approached to design the timber wall cladding throughout the new wine gallery.
The gallery contains some amazing artwork such as a giant carbon fibre wine rack designed by Brian Steinobel, a spiral staircase by Conrad Hicks and Angus Taylor, Granite floors, monolith stone top bar and chalk tasting counter, Terrior Wall, and brandy display consisting of hand-blown glass decanters by Lothar Bӧttcher.
