Additions and alterations to an existing stone cottage aims to preserve and celebrate the character and typology of the existing, by complementing it with subtle, contemporary additions. The existing portion houses an intimate open plan kitchen & living area opening up to a full length patio and 2 en-suite bedrooms. The main suite is built as a contemporary steel framed annex knitting living spaces between existing trees and allowing breathtaking ocean views to flood all three glazed walls of the bedroom. Materiality and detail construction enables small and mundane experiences to be elevated.
